I created Cravattology® in 2024 as an independent project on the border between fashion, art, and research to explore men’s and women’s accessories worn primarily around the neck and on the chest as symbolic spaces of language and self-affirmation. I recover fabrics, materials and garments laden with memory and redefine their function, form and meaning. For me, upcycling is a creative, cultural and responsible act of reducing environmental impact, transforming the existing into new wearable objects out of the box, consciously imperfect, often unique, sometimes numbered and unrepeatable.
It is not just a brand, but a stance toward a conscious and value-conscious lifestyle that questions how to inhabit time and space. It draws its inspiration from the past but seeks to build a more ethical, kind,
slow and responsible present.
Wearable textile art
Cravattology® textile works have a talismanic presence and an aesthetic that refuses neutrality. I design designs between maximalism and short circuits between eras, styles, and meanings to generate reactions. Details should not decorate but define one’s position, character, and the moods of those who choose them.
Packaging
Packaging is part of the project. Research is ongoing to limit or zero the use of plastics and find new materials and solutions that are functional, aesthetic yet low-impact: from FSC-certified cardboard, recycled paper labels, natural fiber fabrics reused as bags to acid-free tissue paper to let fibers breathe, preserve fabrics and preserve their quality over time.
Many creations carry sewn on the label a micro “angel caller” rattle chosen as a secret and personal amulet.
Melito & Melita
They are the mascots of the brand. It is not known for sure whether they are a couple, two accomplices, or simply two kindred spirits. What is certain is that they do not like to stand still, and they enjoy changing the rules of the game. You meet them in the charms and soft sculptures, in the prints, in the folds of fabrics, and in the little stories that run through the Cravattology world. They are the ironic custodians of a simple philosophy: to transform what already exists, into something new, possibly leaving a mark, lasting over time.
